Fortnite Update 3.98 Patch Notes (v25.30)

Fortnite update 3.98 (v25.30) patch notes details released for PS4, PC, PS5(version 1.000.109), Xbox One, and PC. According to the official Fortnite 3.98 patch notes, the latest update introduces “Break the Curse!” with Jujutsu Kaisen, while Fortnite Save the World v25.30 adds the Raptor Wrangler questline and Primal weapon set. Apart from this, today’s Fortnite patch 3.98 also includes various bug fixes.

Previously, a major Fortnite Chapter 4 update added quality-of-life improvements and fixes. Unfortunately, players are still facing several issues with the game. Today’s Fortnite update 3.98 will address a few of these issues.

Fortnite 3.98 Patch Notes (v25.30) – August 9, 2023

Battle Royle

“BREAK THE CURSE!” WITH JUJUTSU KAISEN

1. Jujutsu Kaisen Integration

• The cursed energy from the world of Jujutsu Kaisen has taken over the Battle Royale Island.
• Players can harness and wield this cursed energy in Fortnite’s “Break the Curse!” event, running until August 25, 2023, at 2 AM ET.

2. Cursed Techniques

• Cursed Llamas are roaming on the Island.
• Breaking a Cursed Llama drops two cursed techniques: Straw Doll Technique and Hollow Technique: Purple.

3. Break the Curse! Quests

• Players can complete Break the Curse! Quests while using cursed techniques and battling.
• Completing these quests earns Cursed Energy, which unlocks in-game rewards.
• The free reward track and the Premium Reward Track upgrade contain different unlockable rewards.
• Purchasing the Premium Reward Track upgrade for 1,000 V-Bucks unlocks extra rewards, including the Streetwear Yuji Itadori Outfit.

4. Jujutsu High Grades and Nue Glider

• Break the Curse! Quests start at Grade 4 and progress up to Special Grade.
• Players can earn tokens for each grade upon completing certain numbers of Quests.
• Collecting five tokens unlocks the Nue Glider.

5. Jujutsu Kaisen Cup

• The Jujutsu Kaisen Cup is a Duos Zero Build tournament taking place on August 11.
• Top point-earning players can unlock the Good Boy Kon Emoticon.
• Getting three eliminations rewards the Gojo’s Eye Emoticon.
• Players earning at least eight points receive the Yuji’s Training Spray.

6. New Jujutsu Kaisen Outfits in Item Shop

• Outfits for Yuji Itadori’s classmates Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki, and teacher Satoru Gojo are available in the Item Shop.

7. Competitive Notes

• Cursed Llamas, Straw Doll Technique, and Hollow Technique: Purple are not included in tournaments, except for the Jujutsu Kaisen Cup.

8. Major Bug Fixes

• Reduced render distance issue since v25.20 has been fixed.
• Issue of visually presenting Ranked Battle Royale rank after switching to Ranked Zero Build has been fixed.

Save The World

RAPTOR WRANGLER QUESTLINE AND PRIMAL WEAPON SET

1. Raptor Wrangler Questline

• Players can now experience raptor riding in Save the World.
• Completing the Raptor Wrangler questline from August 9 to September 5, 2023, unlocks the new Hero, Prickly Patroller Ramirez, and the Primal Shotgun.

2. Raptor Riding

• After capturing a raptor, players can ride it for high jumps and thrilling adventures.

3. New Hero and Weapons

• Prickly Patroller Ramirez makes her debut in Save the World.
• The new Primal Shotgun is part of the Primal weapon set, which also includes the Primal Pistol, Primal SMG, and Primal Rifle.

4. Raptor Wrangler Questline Tasks

• Don’t Bite the Band That Tames: Tame two raptors.
• Raptor Rodeo: Travel 1000m on raptor-back.
• Ricochet Ranger: Eliminate 50 Husks while riding any wildlife.

5. Prickly Patroller Ramirez’s Perks

• Standard Perk (Prickly): Enemies that land melee attacks take 10 base damage.
• Commander Perk (Prickly+): Enemies that land melee attacks take 15 base damage plus an additional 5 base damage per second for 3 seconds.

6. Primal Weapon Set

• The Primal Shotgun is available upon completing the Raptor Wrangler questline.
• Primal Pistol, Primal SMG, and Primal Rifle will rotate into the Event Store each week starting from August 9.

7. Primal Weapon Perks

• All Primal Weapons have an intrinsic perk where wildlife won’t attack unless provoked.
• Core Perks include bonus damage to high health targets and activating Frenzy for increased move and attack speed upon eliminating Mist Monsters or multiple enemies quickly.

8. Upcoming Weekly Quests

• “Hit the Road” questline continues with weekly quests.
• Escort Cloaked Star from August 9 to August 16 to earn the Thunder Thora Hero.
• Escort Quinn from August 16 to August 23 to earn Gold, Tickets, and a Loading Screen.

9. Event and Weekly Store Additions

• Redline Ramirez available on August 16 with Quick Scope perk.
• Tactical Assault Sledgehammer available on August 23 with Assault Crit Damage perk.
• Surround Pound available on August 9.

10. Bug Fixes

• Several Save the World bug fixes, including the Storm Shield console and menu issues, and Back/ESC button functionality in some menus.

Addressed the following issues.

• Bluescreen with Quick Resume on Xbox Series X|S
• Character may be invisible in the Lobby
• Player footsteps can not be heard in UEFN/Creative Games
• some players may be receiving a blue screen when Booting Up/Logging into Fortnite.
• Princess Lexa’s skirt remains floating and sticks out
• Meow Skulls is missing her tail
• Players experience reduced render distance since v25.20 release.
• “Capture the Rift Loot Island POI” scoring may sometimes not be recorded in Fortnite tournaments.
• Players may be visually presented with their Battle Royale Rank even after switching to Ranked Zero Build.
• Submachine gun muzzle flash VFX continue after firing.
